POSITION TITLE: Associate, Human Resources

DIVISION:

SUPERVISOR: Director of Human Resources

CLASSIFICATION: Exempt

STATUS: Full Time

CATEGORY: 1.1

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to support the administrative personnel functions for the agency located on the West side of the state, ensuring that human resource functions operate effectively, appropriately, safely, cost-efficiently, and within the regulations set forth by licensing and funding standards.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

1. ONSITE SUPPORT FOR HR TEAM

A. Become a resource to the onsite recruiting staff

B. Assist with interviewing staff and recommendations to recruiters

C. Monitor and report staff turnover data and staff satisfaction data.

D. Support recruiting events when needed

E. Support the Training Department with scheduling trainings with managers as needed.

F. Assist with documentation as needed throughout the HR department for every new hire and through the Status change process.

2. GENERAL HUMAN RESOURCES FUNCTIONS

A. Attest to each new hire’s identity and employment eligibility on the I-9 form. Complete E-Verify and resolve issues as they occur.

B. Unemployment Claims, Issues, Documentation, Protests and hearings for the West counties.

C. Assist the HR department with departmental projects, as needed.

D. Act as backup for general HR functions in the absence of the other staff member

E. Audit HR files for accuracy in Provide and report Hire/Turnover data monthly

F. Support delivery of mail, misc. items between agencies offices.

G. Support the purchases of household, office and food supplies are taken care of for the HRW office.

H. Participate in weekly and monthly meetings as required.

I. Act as an internal customer support to other department managers with any policy and people questions.

3. ASSIST WITH EMPLOYEE RELATIONS ISSUES / INITIATIVES

A. Assist all departments with employee relations issues including preparing responses to allegations of employment misconduct, personnel situations, policy review and other issues as needed.

B. Assist supervisory staff and agency departments with employee relations matters and personnel issues; and in the development/revision of department policies and/or procedures as requested.

C. Assist all departments with all disciplinary matters, including, PIPS, terminations with the HR Director approval.

D. Assist with Non-DOT Drug screens

4. OTHER FUNCTIONS

A. Display an overall commitment to the agency’s mission, values and vision while maintaining a positive, professional image. Work cooperatively with coworkers and accept other duties as assigned by supervisor.

B. Participate in additional departmental projects as needed. Exhibit positive customer service skills in all contacts with internal and external customers.

C. Represent departments, as directed, at agency functions and community relations.

D. Serve on special agency committees as requested.

E. Attend/request related training as authorized, including staff meetings.

F. Participate in survey/audit preparation as needed (i.e., CARF, BQIS, etc.).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Excellent and professional communication skills, both oral and written.

2. The ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, clients, family, board members, and outside organizations

3. Have own transportation to/from meetings and events in and around the entire service area.

4. Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

5. Ability to work flexible, non-standard hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A bachelor’s or associate degree with at least Three (3) years of administrative experience. A combination of experience and education will be considered.
