Individualized Community-Based Services
OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1987) is a Federal law which mandates the screening and review of all persons with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of developmental disability who seek admission to Medicaid Certified nursing facilities.
The goal of OBRA is to help residents maintain their highest level of fulfillment in the community in the least restrictive environment.
Through OBRA, DSI offers individualzed community-based services that allow nursing home residents of any age who meet MRDD criteria the opportunity to take part in activities that will help them live more fulfilled and healthy lives.
