About the Program

DSI understands the fears, misconceptions, and uncertainties families often face when trying to find the most effective supports and services for their children. DSI works with parents to establish the most effective early intervention plan that yields a solid foundation for learning and physical development for their children.

Indiana’s First Steps through DSI provide a system of early intervention for infants and toddlers with special needs. Working together, a child’s parents, teachers, physicians, and therapists develop a road map for the services to be received.

Services include:
  • Occupational, physical and speech therapy
  • Developmental therapy
  • Information and referral
  • Family education and support
  • Home visits

Program Funding

First Steps is funded through existing services, local, state, and federal funding, Medicaid, and private insurance. For more information about the Indiana First Steps through DSI Services, contact us below.
